Prototyping, Product Design, UX Design

In the United States 35 million tons of food get thrown into the garbage each year. Most of them go to waste due to the inaccuracy of best before and sell-by dates. Studies suggest that more than half of the discharged food could have been eaten. However, when perishable food has gone bad it can not only lose freshness but it can no longer be safe to eat.

My challenge was to develop a product that could maintain users safe and help them reduce the amount of food thrown in their households.
